Woman Fights Off Knife-Wielding Attacker with a Stun Gun

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) – A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest after a man reportedly tried to kidnap a woman at knife-point at a CATS bus stop Sunday night in south Charlotte, police said. The attempted kidnapping happened at 7:36 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17 in the 9500 block of South Blvd. Police released photos of a possible suspect Tuesday afternoon.

A 23-year-old woman, who sustained cuts to her face, told police she had just been dropped off by a CATS bus on South Boulevard when a man approached her from behind with a knife. She said the man grabbed her and ordered her to go with him.

The woman told police she used a stun gun to fight off the attacker. She was cut on the face during the struggle. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries, police said.

The suspect is described a dark skinned black male in his 40s with a muscular build and a grey goatee beard. He was reportedly wearing a blue hoodie, dark pants, boots and a grey toboggan. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
